On May 31, 2010, BC Hydro issued the Bioenergy Phase 2 Call - Request for Proposals. Detailed requirements are found on BC Hydro's Bioenergy Phase 2 Call for Power website. BC Hydro facilitates the Competitive Electricity Acquisition Process by providing interconnection studies. The information from these studies will be used to evaluate and select successful bidders.
What does an IPP need to do?
The Bioenergy Phase 2 Call utilizes a screening process to select Preferred Proponents. Under the terms of the RFP the Proponent is required to submit an Interconnection Request Form with the proposal submission. This includes an Interconnection Study Fee Deposit, which is refundable under certain circumstances, as described in Section 14.3 of the RFP document. Following the selection of Preferred Proponents a Feasibility Study Agreement will be tendered to Preferred Proponents to start the CEAP Feasibility Study.
The application is comprised of:
- Submitting an Interconnection Request form (XLS, 697KB) by October 28, 2010
- Submitting a $30,000 deposit by October 28, 2010
- Signing a Feasibility Study Agreement prior to the end of January, 2011 (Preferred Proponents Only)
To proceed through the study process, Proponents will be required to meet technical requirements and provide data to BC Hydro in a timely manner. More details will be communicated to Proponents.
The complete Phase 2 schedule is available on BC Hydro's Bioenergy Phase 2 Call for Power website.
