Notice: BCTC contract transfer as of July 5, 2010
The new Clean Energy Act consolidates BC Hydro and BC Transmission Corporation to provide a single entity that plans and delivers clean energy required to meet British Columbia’s growing demand for electricity while fostering job creation throughout the province and helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
As a result of this integration, any contracts with BCTC will be transferred to BC Hydro either as of July 5, 2010 or shortly thereafter. Contracts that are governed by the law of a jurisdiction other than British Columbia will continue to reside with BCTC until such time as the necessary steps are taken to assign them to BC Hydro.
BC Hydro is in the process of reorganizing its business to reflect the changes effected by the Clean Energy Act. In the meantime, consider it business as usual in relation to any contracts with BCTC.
The Clean Energy Act provides that all BCTC employees will be BC Hydro employees as of July 5, 2010. We ask that vendors, until notified otherwise, continue to contact their existing contract representative with any questions or concerns related to the integration. In addition, if there are any changes that may affect the BCTC bid process, notification shall be conveyed in accordance with the applicable bid documents.
